This month I chose Requiem by Mark Sixma, a great tune for the summer festivals of 2013.  This track has all the elements necessary for dancers, ravers and those who simply need inspiration.  Enjoy!

Deep Space Track

I chose Aether by Andrew Rayel.  He is one of my favorite DJ's and producers.  This track is incredible and very difficult to describe so i decided to re-quote Andrew Rayel, i think he explains it best. “I believe music is a universal language, that unites people with nothing but love, I intended to make sure that my tracks are nothing except full of emotions and happiness, as it’s one of the reasons behind music, and that is making the world a better place” Andrew Rayel

Back Track

Hello fellow music lovers!  Hope you all had a safe and enjoyable 4th of July.  This month's back track is "Adagio for Strings" as remixed by Tiesto.  This track will inspire and motivate you.  It is a great example of classical music evolved for the 21st century.  Adagio for Strings is a work by Samuel Barber arranged for string orchestra from the second movement of his String Quartet, Op. 11. Barber finished the arrangement in 1936, the same year that he wrote the quartet.  Tiesto has done a fantastic job of making this timeless piece relevant for the electronic music genre.  Happy Listening!

Favorite Track of the Month

This month I chose "Conviction" composed by the 20 year old DJ and producer Willem de Roo.  I really enjoyed this piece and am looking forward to exploring more works of Willem.  Enjoy!

Gravity Episode 7

I'm glad to be back to open up episode 7.  Thank you to all who keep checking back.  Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) Las Vegas kicked off this weekend with Epic performances by Audien, Hardwell, Destructohard, Armin Van Buuren, Arty just to mention a few.  Electric Area on sirius xm has been playing all the live sets and i'm sure will continue to re-play them in the upcoming week if you need to catch up on some beats.  Hope you enjoy my last episode.  Happy Listening!

Deep Space Track

This months' pick is Attractive Force by Alexander Popov also available on A State of Trance 2012 This piece is absolutely beautiful.   As it begins, it reminds me of a person in longing and the rhythm breaks into a sense of urgency.  Maybe longing for something as the name indicates "attractive".  After some bass dropping, the "longing" vocals emerge and reintroduce the bass line.  Vocals in this piece capture the emotion of longing in my opinion.  Happy Listening! and Happy Fathers Day!

Back Track

For this month's Back Track I chose The Orange Theme (Terry Toner & Mason Remix) by Cygnus X.  This track for me is timeless and quickly transports me back to the ninety's, what a sweet decade it was. Here's a bit of history on this track and it's brilliant composers', Cygnus X was a trance music project from Germany named after the famous X-ray binary star Cygnus X-1. It began as a collaboration between Matthias Hoffmann and Ralf Hildenbeutel, who later left.  Other projects of the pair include A.C. Boutsen, Brainchild and Dee.FX. Their sound extends from hard to ambient trance. Their first release was "Superstring" in 1993. Their third trance track, "The Orange Theme", released in 1994, was the project's best received track, borrowing the melodic theme of Henry Purcell's classical composition "Music for the Funeral of Queen Mary" (also appearing as theme music for Stanley Kubrick's film "A Clockwork Orange", which arguably is the reference of the track title). Their releases "Positron" and "Hypermetrical" became also well known hits of the genre. Happy Listening!

Favorite Track of the Month

Hello everyone!  A new month is ahead of us and it's time to share another one of my favorite tunes.  This track is titled "Meet Her In Miami" by Gareth Emery.  The sounds and rhythms of this tune will dance you into the summer.  Happy listening!

Gravity Episode 6

Hello fellow music lovers!  Last weekend Electric Daisy Carnival was in New York City and this weekend in Chicago,  a sure sign the EDM festivals are in full swing.  Welcome to my 6th episode of the gravity podcast and thank you so much for listening.  I begin this episode with a style similar to my prior podcasts, around minute 11 I introduce some experimental concepts right through the end.  I hope you enjoy this episode as much as i enjoyed compiling it.   Happy Listening!
